We offer an array of publications. Most are free to Wisconsin parents. Please call our office at 877-374-4677 to obtain any of the following publications.

 

Welcome Packet. All the information you need about WI FACETS, including a brochure about services available from our Parent Training and Information Center, Community Parent Resource Center and other projects.

Parent Rights and Responsibilities.This packet provides parents with information about the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Wisconsin rules and regulations, including referrals, evaluations, procedural safeguards, IEP and placement.

Fast Facts for Families. Brochure with information about 6 federally funded statewide agencies supporting Wisconsin families who have a child with a disability. (English and Spanish versions available).

The IDEA in IEPs. This packet includes an overview of the Individualized Education Program (IEP), including legal requirements, roles of IEP team members, parent considerations in various sections of the IEP.

Creating the Vision for Transition. This packet includes information about the planning process required by schools to prepare students who are 14 and older for the transition from school to the adult world, including IEP considerations, role of outside agencies and the Dept. of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Special Education Dispute Resolution Packet. Includes a Wisconsin Special Education Mediation System brochure, Facilitated IEP information, request forms, and a workbook to help your planning for mediation. You can also find out about mediation at: www.marquette.edu/wsems
